The increase in fraud through calls, emails, SMS messages, and WhatsApp is a reality affecting various sectors such as banks, airlines, retailers, the hotel industry, and vacation clubs are no exception.
After receiving reports of attempted fraud, Sunset World Group and Club Sunset implemented a campaign to keep their members informed and protected, alerting them of the mechanisms fraudsters use to offer fake packages and promotions in the name of Sunset World Group or Club Sunset or their hotels: Hacienda Tres Ríos, Sunset Royal, Sunset Marina, Sunset Fishermen, Ocean Spa, and Laguna Suites.

Some scammers even pose as representatives of Kimpton Hotels and Resorts or Sunset World Group, and promote fake offers at hotels with which Sunset World Group or Club Sunset have no relationship, such as Nickelodeon or Xcaret. Using advanced technology and, in some cases, artificial intelligence to appear legitimate, scammers include personal information to make the scam more believable. They offer fake promotions with exaggeratedly low prices, flight discounts, or free park tickets, pressuring you to make an urgent deposit. They also request payments into bank accounts not belonging to the company, which is a clear red flag.
Sunset World Group or Club Sunset DO NOT offer plane tickets or special benefits with any airline, nor do they accept payments via PayPal or Western Union. Sunset World Group or Club Sunset recommend NOT making any payments or deposits without first confirming the authenticity of the contact through official channels such as the Member Portal at www.sunsetworldresorts.com or through the Corporate Member Services at the following telephone numbers:
